RE: help propane

I cannot get get the fridge(dometic) and the water heater (suburban) to work on propane. They both work on 110 volt. The propane bottles are full and the bubble on top is green.sounds like you just need to bleed the air out of your lines....light the stove and let it burn for a few minutes, then a couple of tries should get the rest going.

RE: batteries

Based upon the age of your rig (and converter) I would say yes, but as stated the DC power will probably be cleaner if modulated by a battery. So, if you are going to use the DC power, it depends for what....if not, go for it.....Brian:h

looking for a previous post

the post was about trailer lights, and someone made a jumper wire and plugged it into the trailer plug and it fed its own clearance lights of of the trailer battery. I would like to see that post again, and i cant find it.

RE: fresh water holding tank

i do appreciate all the feedback, and it really makes no since to me, but i am sure the water is coming from the overflow/vent line, not the drain line with block valve. other trailers i have been familiar with, the vent is located back by the fill hose opening. i wonder if i can just plug this line while traveling??? any expansion would be compensated from the fill line, wouldnt it???

RE: fresh water holding tank

Are you filling to capacity? If so it will loose water on the roll of the road. Also it can siphon water when some of starts to flow the rest will follow. Is the water loss intermittent or continuous after it starts? I will loose some water when i fill to capacity. .seems to be a continuous drip, if not small stream.....about a half a tank in a four hour period....

fresh water holding tank

why is it that i loose water from my fresh water holding tank going down the road out of the overflow hose. it hangs out of the bottom of the trailer, but it is inclosed and cant see how it is plumbed. i wish i could find a diagram or pictures of how it is put together before i tear the whole bottom apart. i drilled a few holes thru a divider wall next to the tank from a storage compartment, and found what i think is the side of the tank, but cant see anything around it. its a 03 forest river 362bbs.

RE: mileage with a diesel

i get about 13 empty, pulling rig in signature, lucky to get 9 at 2000 rpm. dont know where everyone else gets those numbers. i live in flat land. the only hills around here are overpasses!!! guess the difference from a 5.9 to 6.7 ctd You have virtually the same truck I do, except mine's single rear wheels. You should get a lot more than 13 MPG empty unless you're going up pretty steep hills often or driving fast all the time. I can get 18-20 MPG out of mine empty but then I don't go much over 60 MPH. Have you had the latest computer re-flashes performed? I think the latest is AX (may be up to AY be now). You may also have leaking injector(s). Is your oil level going up and appears excessively thin?? I'd have this checked out. Is the truck broken in? (What's the odometer reading?)i have less than 9000 miles on it, and usually only run 60 to 65 max. i guess it will get better with time. havent noticed any thing funny with the oil..although i am due for a change. generally only use the truck when pulling the trailer.

RE: Not evacuating from hurricane, questions

might i add, if you leave it next to the house, it will probably be in the grass. be sure to put LARGE cribbing under the front outriggers. when FAY came thru last month, my outriggers sunk about 2 inches from all the rain. could of been very bad. $.02
